Franklin County Prosperity Report

Upcoming Events

The Franklin County Prosperity Indicators Report was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Franklin County Area Development Corp., Franklin County Government, Summit Health and the United Way of Franklin County. Researcher Dr. David Polk revealed highlights of the report at the Chamber’s Annual Business Breakfast in December 2012.

The report shows how Franklin County stacks up to seven other counties around the state and along the Interstate 81 corridor, and indicates areas of strength and weakness in health/safety, education, economy and the well-being of people. The Chamber and other groups interested in improving the quality of life in Franklin County are using information from the report to tackle the weaknesses revealed through the research.

Prosperity Taskforce

From the report, a Prosperity Taskforce was born with the objective to identify and address the top three key issues facing Franklin County. Those identified were: early childhood education, workforce development and childhood obesity. The Taskforce has since been working to develop programs and implement systems to improve these areas of need in our county.
