From February 16-24, 2019, the Travel Club is exploring the Natural Wonders of Costa Rica, guided by Chamber member Uniquest Chambersburg Travel. After arriving in San Jose, you’ll stop at a banana plantation on your way east to the Caribbean shore. Then, you’ll enjoy a guided cruise through Tortuguero National Park and a tour of the rainforest. This beautiful, untouched land is home to herons, toucans, monkeys and even endangered green turtle

On Day 4, you’ll travel to the Sarapiqui area on your way to Arenal, visiting a pineapple farm and a hot spring as well. In Arenal you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the town of LaFortuna de San Carlos, spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano, and a visit to Natura Park that will leave you in awe of more exotic wildlife. You may also set out on optional excursions, such as a horseback ride or a float trip.

Before returning to San Jose, you’ll enjoy two days in the cloud forest of Monteverde. Behold the Skywalk hanging bridges, the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, and the family-owned Trapiche Farm, where you’ll enjoy a homemade lunch. Finally, stop by Sarchi Village, known as the center of Costa Rican handcrafts, and shop for souvenirs before you return home.

Starting at $2,108 land price per person (based on double occupancy), the trip includes breakfast daily, five lunches and five three-course dinners including a special farewell dinner in Monteverde.
