Trying to find that perfect sentimental gift at an affordable price, without battling long lines and holiday scrooges seems almost impossible at big retail stores. Shopping small could help alleviate that stress while giving you an opportunity to support your neighbors and boost the local economy.

Small Business Saturday on November 26 adds a sense of involvement in your community. While you support local shopping in Chambersburg, you can also enter in the #ShopSmall Sweepstakes for a chance to win up to $300 cash! Using your #ShopSmall Sweepstakes card from November 15 through December 15, stop by local small businesses to check off experiences on your card. Once you fill five spaces, turn your card in at the Chambersburg Heritage Center & Gift Shop and you’ll be entered to win.

On your #ShopSmall Sweepstakes card are many experiences ranging from “treat yo’ self” to “order take-out.” One experience that, in my opinion, everyone should check off is “buy a locally made gift.” There are so many great small businesses that feature locally made gifts for you to discover!

Downtown Chambersburg has a number of art galleries and studios, making it a one-stop-shop for buying local artwork. The Foundry is known for their beautiful and affordable art, furniture and more from area artists. The Garage Studios, J. Bryant Photography & Designs, Council for the Arts and Lotus Moon Gallery & Yoga are more great stops for local crafts and works of art.

For other locally made gifts located downtown merchants, the Chambersburg Heritage Center & Gift Shop is a hidden treasure trove of unique gifts. You may not realize the shop features perfect gift ideas like homemade soaps, candles, lotions and more, as well as “pictures as letters” that feature images from around Chambersburg shaped like letters so you can spell out names and words to frame. You can even shop online!
